Grounds Apprentice

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Grounds Apprentice at Lower Mill Estate. As a Grounds Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our experienced team members, gaining experience in all aspects of grounds maintenance, landscaping and horticulture.
Location Lower Mill Estate - Cirencester
Reporting to Head Groundsperson
Salary £8.60 per hour
Hours This role will be Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, working 7.30am - 4.30pm. There will be a requirement to attend college one day per week as dictated by Wiltshire College and Univeristy Centre at Lackham.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Weeding, digging, hedge-cutting and the felling of small trees
  • Using hand tools and basic light machinery, such as mowers, strimmers and leaf-blowers
  • Using estate vehicles including ATVs and RTVs
  • Keeping all areas of the Estate clear and free from litter at all times
  • Working in line with the Ecology Plan

We’d love you to have:

  • A keen interest in horticulture and plant species
  • Previous gardening experience
  • Excellent communication skills with colleagues, guests and homeowners
  • A valid UK driving license
