Human Resources Assistant

Habitat First Group have an opportunity for an experienced HR Assistant to join our small central services team on a maternity leave cover basis (6-12 months); Habitat Frist Group own three luxury Estates based in the Cotswolds, Dorset and North Devon. The position will be based two days per week at our Head Office located outside of Cirencester and three days per week either at home or at our Lower Mill Estate when required.

The HR Assistant will manage all aspects of HR with the main focus on Recruitment & Selection and Employee Relations.

Habitat First Group is looking for a talented and organised HR professional to join their team on a 6-12-month maternity cover. The successful candidate will have a generalist HR background and will be happy working both independently and in a small team environment. You will have strong administration skills and be happy to support the Finance team if required.

This is a company that is growing and so there will be a lot of emphasis on recruitment from liaising with department heads to advertising, thorough screening, interview, offer, contract and induction.

Further duties will include but not limited to: –

  • Be the first point of contact for our staff and drive a positive employee experience
  • Deal with day to day queries from staff and Managers
  • Full administration of the HR function and employee life cycle
  • Update and maintain the HR Information System
  • Prepare and update contracts and company policies
  • Provide guidance to Managers at all levels on employment matters, ensuring advice is given within legal boundaries, including best practice and internal policies
  • Support managers with Employee relation matters including disciplinary, complaints / grievance investigations, dismissal; with attendance and support at meetings and producing the related correspondence
  • Provide all new starter information to Finance and provide support to this function when required
  • Create jobs specs, advertise & attract, shortlist, interview and select
  • Manage and issue employee contracts / starter form documentation, plan and provide company induction and orientation
  • Liaise with our outsourced I.T team to set up all new starters, organise desk station and log in details
  • Organise training, particularly H&S across the company as and when required
  • Work directly with Managers to support performance management strategies

  • Have the ability to work autonomously
