Laundry Assistant/Checker

Habitat First Group owns three luxury second home/holiday Estates in the Cotswolds, Dorset, and North Devon.

We have a unique opportunity for a Laundry Assistant/Checker to join our Housekeeping Team on a permanent basis at our beautiful Lower Mill estate (Cotswolds).

This position is responsible for managing the laundry service we provide to privately owned holiday homes on the estate with an additional responsibility to do the arrival and departure checks for our portfolio of private rentals.

Reporting to Property Coordinators
Salary £10.75 - £12.50 per hour
Hours Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10:00 am - 16:00 pm. During high peak seasons, there will be the ability to increase the working hours with overtime. Due to the nature of the role, bank holidays and school holidays are the busiest times of year for us and your availability to work during these times is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To carefully manage the intake of laundry from the private properties to ensure that they are washed and pressed correctly to the request of the owner
  • Make sure all linen and towelling is counted and recorded
  • Manage the laundry collection and pick up service, ensuring that all linen and towelling is returned to the owner
  • Ensuring all cleaning equipment is washed and dried ready for the team to collect in the morning
  • Keep the Laundry area clean and tidy at all times
  • Undertake private properties arrival checks, covering the standard of the clean and making sure all appliances work for the guests e.g. the gas hobs, radiators or air conditioning
  • Undertake departure checks, looking for any breakages, internal or external damage to the property, or any missing goods

GENERAL:

  • To complete H&S modules within the Learning Management System, plus any modules of interest to you
  • Encourage the use of using eco-friendly products
  • Encourage the reporting of missing linen and maintenance issues either using Elite or direct to the appropriate supervisor
  • Participate in weekly meetings with Department Supervisors and Manager.
  • Participate in morning and afternoon team debriefs with your Manager
  • Support the onboarding of new team members as led by the People Team and Housekeeping Coordinators as and when required

HEALTH & SAFETY:

  • Ensure the compliance of all legal requirements in respect of the health and safety and welfare of team members and customers, COSSH, manual handling, fire safety, and lone working
  • Raise any training needs of the Housekeeping Assistants and Team Leaders to the Manager
