Maintenance Manager

Habitat First Group have a unique opportunity for an Maintenance Manager to join our Maintenance department; Habitat Frist Group own three luxury Estates based in the Cotswolds, Dorset and North Devon and we’re on the search for a professional Maintenance Manager to oversee this area of the business. The position will be predominantly based in Cirencester, with travel to our sister site at Silverlake, Dorset and in the not too distant future, Birchwood North Devon.

The Maintenance Manager will be a key management role overseeing the daily running of Habitat First Group sites from a maintenance perspective to ensure a compliant, safe, and visually appealing environment whilst working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
Location Based at Lower Mill Estate, with commute to Dorset and North Devon

Hours 40 hours per week to include weekends throughout peak season

Managing a skilled maintenance team of six, you will be a passionate leader and able to take responsibility for implementing and maintaining all maintenance services.    You will ‘think like a guest and act like an owner’ by managing all proactive and reactive maintenance by communicating with external contractors, the maintenance team, internal departments, property owners and guests.

The position is mainly office based and duties include but are not limited to; management of: –

  • All Habitat Escapes property maintenance issues
  • All small works (outside Habitat Escapes rental agents)
  • Planning (jetty, deck extensions etc)
  • Establishing, managing, and monitoring rental maintenance packages, private homeowner packages and bespoke maintenance packages
  • In house window cleaning and high reach window cleaning
  • Spider control
  • Algae treatments
  • Pressure washing
  • Property certificate management
  • Inventories of 80+ properties
  • Fire Risk Assessments / H&S
  • Stove services
  • Organising quotes, purchasing/credit card analysis
  • Invoicing customers
  • Drive revenue to offer new services such as small renovation works
  • Create, devise and maintain an inventory store

You’ll have high standards when it comes to property maintenance and keeping the Estates running as efficiently as possible as well as being meticulous about the health and safety of both staff and guests alike.

Team management Duties include but are not limited to:-

  • Focus on training and development of the team to establish good working practices
  • Ensure the maintenance team are equipped and have the knowledge to positively impact the guest experience for all Estate users
  • Conduct informal and formal meetings and training sessions to ensure up to date business and job knowledge, communication, skills & progression are maintained. This includes but is not limited to training, re-training, 1:1’s, probation reviews etc.
  • Ensure the team deliver exceptional operational standards along with meaningful guest and property owner interaction
  • Identify training needs and work on training plans where required
  • Implement quality performance measures and ensure they are adhered to and any non-compliance is resolved in a professional manner with clear plans and next steps visible to all
  • Identify new opportunities to bring outsourced skills inhouse.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience working within a similar role
  • Experience in one or more building trades including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting/ decorating or general building maintenance
  • Be an effective communicator and leader, with the ability to communicate across of levels
  • Possess excellent knowledge of health and safety, fire safety and risk assessments
  • Possess excellent I.T administrative skills
